Being let loose on the public

It doesn’t matter if it takes you 1 or 18 shunts. As long as you get it on without smashing stuff up, thats all that matters. Take your time and relax.

So half the battle of being on your own has been fought.
Like me you started on a small vehicle, so you will know your way around. I knew my way around London at 21 before I had driven an artic, even though I lived 300 miles away, and made all my initial balls ups in a Transit pick up, so like me at that time, you have an advantage over a lot of new drivers, you are just driving a bigger vehicle.that you haven proven you can drive by passing a test.
Just drop the negativity mate, and think positive…it does work. :bulb: , you will be fine, just take in all the advice on here, and if you still lack confidence …blag it.
(that also works, I have blagged stuff all my life  )

Aye, yes this is all true … My husband has said similar to you to be fair, I bet once Im behind the wheel and on my way Ill not have time to think negatively will I, be too busy remembering my “10 - 2” steering

Cheers for that

The Church of Shearer teaches us to take no heed of the teachings of those of the evil forces of Old Trafford, with the word ‘reds’ in their name who beareth false witness, as most of them belong to the Surrey and Home Counties dioceses of Manchester, and eat cucumber sandwiches as opposed to pork pies. So Get thee behind me Satan.

Before I derail the thread again, I’ll wish the OP well, just as i did the Newbie forum…

As for your God Shearer, I think I need to remind you that he spent 6 years on the sunny South coast learning his craft.
You’re welcome!

I still don’t rate his crisps.

I had to think about that for a minute

Rob - is the second lesson, Thou [zb] avoid, with utmost of ones ability, supporting The Toon? As I heard it can be just as damaging to your health…

Don’t know where I’m going with this  , so I’ll just say looking forward to Premiership football next season. :sunglasses:

To o/p …please note it was not me who hijacked the thread to football, blame the evil red (or F-red ) one.
(Which is a coincidence as that is how I usually describe MU fans F- Reds  )

only 55,000 season ticket holders with an M postcode though rob ( M for Manchester ) :grimacing: so you’re arguments flawed already. Most of them prawn sandwich brigade went to siteee because they won the league. Lol. Don’t count you’re chickens, you black and white ■■■■■■ Lol

Be confident in your ability. As you’ve just passed your ability will be only a little bit above 1 on a scale of 1 to 10 so just take your time and don’t get cocky, especially when reversing onto tight bays between trucks. Don’t worry about what anyone else might think, get out and have a look, repeat, repeat, repeat if necessary, ask another driver to watch you back. Better to suffer a bit of embarrassment (even though any decent driver wouldn’t be critical) than to overestimate your ability like a cocky foreigner reversing in at a million miles and hour and hitting something.

It’s going be hell at some places, but stay calm and you’ll gradually improve over the months.

Also don’t panic about big cities like London, it’s just tarmac like anywhere else. Think of it likes lots of little towns all joined together.
