Being filmed.

I [zb]in’ love that!

There is very simple fix for this issue - buy head mount and camera, put it on your head, turn it on, walk to him and say hello.

These creatures who film us and watch us and call us names quickly change their approach and atitude once camera is pointed back into their own face.

This solution in average costs less than 2 parking tickets…

Camera man will get comeuppance one day when he’s in the s**t…

Just a thought but why were you trying to throw a strap AGAINST the wind? Would lobbing it from the other side not have been a better idea?

+1

Position the truck to your advantage. Makes things easier.

I always pull a flatbed doing high collections, so I’m used to throwing straps in a variety of weather conditions.

Today I was strapping up a 15 feet high load in the wind and the rain. Because I was unable to move from the loading area I had to throw with a terrible side wind.

Straps being blown around and back at me is something I am used to as its part of the job. However today I turn around and other driver is laughing at my strap / wind issue and sat in his cab filming the whole thing on his phone.

I didn’t want to get in trouble on the site so didn’t make a scene. But I was really ■■■■■■ off that another driver would do this.

Rant over.

How do you know he was filming you ? could he have been watching a video and laughing at that.

Anyway … I done a quick search of youtube of stuff that has been uploaded today with hgv, lorry etc as keywords, and i’m sure you will be pleased to know that I couldnt find anything with straps been thrown, but there was the following that is mildly amusing, a tanker driver playing in the puddles… so if you really can’t find anything better to do for the next 2 minutes

Would have been common decency in my books to get out and help.

Some right ■■■■■ in the job theses days…

A box on the mouth

Just a thought; how did us oldies get on with sheets on high loads ? Two sheets and a fly… sometimes literally.

Don’t forget the old Chinese proverb: A bellend’s mobile smashed on the floor make hard to phone Police.

why assume the worst? you already said your used to throwing straps in high wind, so you must be quite good.
maybe he thought you were doing a good job… a real professional taking the high winds in his stride.
if you didnt confront him, how do you know he wasnt impressed?

Yeh right :unamused:
.Why film him for whatever reason, why not get his arse out of the cab and help him, as I, and am sure many others would.
As we ALL as drivers did once, and not THAT long ago either, in the days when being a complete knobend disqualified you from holding a Class1 licence :bulb: :bulb:

I’m with you here. He might post them in a mocking way, but the OP seems to know what he’s doing and people can make their own minds up. Getting a strap over a high load aint a walk in park at any time.

This whole not helping people when you can thing, i dont really understand. I always try to help if i can, specially when im sat in my cab having a break and i can see someones struggling getting into a space.
