I was talking to my father the other day about this tractor unit and wondered if is was still around? It headed the pack in the early days of UK Truck racing with it’s Detroit diesel, but all to soon it got too costly and the Milton Keynes based Bedford dealer Cowley and Wilson, stopped the racing programme. It started life with a sleeper cab , but a day cab soon replaced it. There are some pictures on Flickr ( just search ‘Bedford race truck’) but wasn’t too sure if i was allowed to post a link?
It was one of the few trucks still to sport a registration plate in probably the 3rd year of racing in the UK?
It would be nice to know if it is still around and where it is?
