I’d imagine Reed Bordall would be able to provide working patterns to suit. Ok the money is rubbish but you’ll save a huge amount of fuel outlay which may offset the wage.

Or Yearsleys, I’m sure they’ve got a place in Hull / Goole area

But basically, any food or beer or supermarket delivery type thing should do - you can have all my weekend shifts :grimacing:

Go see Eurovision, when it was just blakeys, they had sat / sun drivers doing nisa and mauri

You could write a formal letter to the agency demanding sight of all the correspondence pertaining to the complaint about you.

If it contains allegations about you that are untrue, you can demonstrate a clear financial loss as a result…you have a cast-iron case against the client (not the agency) for libel.

You may find that your house insurance may offer you legal cover to engage a solicitor to take this up.

Good luck.

It’s unlikely the agency will be using you again…so go to town on em.
There’s got to be letters or emails pertaining to said incident, under data protection you are entitled to see every bit of it, that mentions you.
Give the agency 42 days to provide the requested information, offer to pay a charge, they can’t charge more than a nominal amount. Tell the agency you will be contacting their client for the same, although you can contact them at later date if you get no joy from agency.
Your reputations on the line, and you want an apology at least.

How many weeks had you worked at Ceva.

I’m a self employed Agency driver.

When i was woken at 7.30am one morning and wrongly accused by a ‘planner’ of tearing the plastic protective covering from the wagon’s mattress that i’d parked up at 4am (night shift) i was so ■■■■■■■ annoyed i got dressed and rode the 27 miles on my motorbike to confront the ‘accuser’ in his planning office…let’s just say i still carry out work for this company…

What i’m saying is go directly to the ‘accuser’ and state your case!! Go and resolve it ffs… :unamused:

Been working away weekend so only just caught up.
Ive worked at Ceva on and off for nearly 2 years but no on continuous assignment.

I was going to go and see they guys there when I first heard of the allegations but my agency said they had it in hand and it would all be resolved quickly, and in any case the guy at Ceva was in Head Office and not at Crown Paints depot.

I will try Eurovision for casual. quite liked working for them/Blakeys. I have spoken to Longs in the past but nothing ever came of it.
I got screwed by K and J on a Keedwell job a while back where they reckon they cancelled me before I arrived for the Sat/Sun with night out but the agency deny this so I refused to take bookings for that client again.

A neighbour told me about approaching Heron at Melton direct for casual work as when their Vosa Ban is lifted they will be really busy.
Also my agency in Cannock has a Haulage arm that does Chep, and they have taken on loads more work, so they can keep me busy and on loads better pay than I can get in Hull plus the mileage means I wont pay tax.
Not so bad after all.

Oh have I missed something, what have Heron Foods been upto? :open_mouth:

My understanding is that due to tipping on breaks they have had a restriction in place for only 7 vehicles to operated from the site for a few weeks.

Agency is never the only option. It’s the easier of the options but if you get out to a recovery firm they tend to offer zero hour contracts and will be flexible what hours you can work, maybe even school hours

as in “vehicle” recovery firms??

Yes

You say you have been there 2 years but no on continuous assignment what do you mean? have you worked 12 weeks even with a gap of up to 5 weeks?

Did you manage to get all your house painted in the colour you wanted

It hasn’t been every week or it might be one two or three days in a week.
I might have been on this and another contract in one week.
I wouldn’t consider that the nature of the assignment would qualify me under the agency workers regs to be treated the same as their own drivers.

No unfortunately paint wasn’t available but I did manage to get a heavily discounted miele hoover from the crown out base in Abingdon

You are covered under the AWR even if you work 1 hour a week as long as you never had more than 6 weeks of in one block. Did you sign any Reg 10 contract. I live near Hull would you pm me the name of the agency.
