when I give up work in Oz, er never, I will buy a cheap caravan and hitch it to my station wagon and become a grey nomad. We roam around Oz, working in agricultural jobs as required.
No my name isn’t really billy hunt! I just made it all up as I didn’t want people calling by my real name, biggus dikkus, as I only have a small todger.
So, to recap, your nearly 65, working in Australia, you want to come back here to work as oz ■■■■■, sort out your pension, not really stop working in Australia, travel around Australia, off the grid so to speak, when you stop working in Australia!
Anyone else confused?
I was under the impression that you could claim your pension in any part of the world.

Yes, you can. And as your not in the UK you don’t pay tax on it either.
You most certainly do pay tax on it in Australia. It’s what all this is about. But. 65 is the new 55 and I can go anywhere.

Billy, I am in the UK
Yes I understand that, I was just answering your question, I didn’t mean as “you” I meant whoever.
As for the paying tax on it abroad what I mean is you shouldn’t pay any tax on it from the UK, what your new country does with your cash is up to them.
I thank you all for answering my question about a return to UK driving. The advice is forget it, I accept that. But like all expats we care about the land of our birth and watch closely from afar.
My love-in with Discoman was because I realised I’d become a troll. Just bloody rude and I regret it.
But yoyo5 says everything I feel and shep532 is an awful apparatchik, government worker, control freak, knows better than you, learned it from a book.
Bless you all, Frank Let’s stop this thread now
