Back doors smashed in whilst asleep

Have any lorries been crashed into whilst parked up in laybys close to the road, i assume they must of, what happens? do you get pushed out in to the road or truck infront or do they just bounce off without you knowing (heavy sleeper).

From the title of this thread, I suspect it’ll make interesting reading

Never had my back doors smashed in :open_mouth: one way traffic only through mine :exclamation:

Has no one else thought what mite happen if they were taken out from behind?

I know someone who took it Tony Martin style.
Both barrells from behind.

There’s been a couple of suicides around here using the “drive as fast as you can into the back of a parked lorry” method. They were cars though so the truck didn’t move but the driver did get a nasty suprise when he went round the back to see what had just woke him up.

Hey skids you didn’t get your name after someone attempted to smash your back doors in did ya?

I’m waiting for the story of a guy who was hauling a load of fudge…

I Heard of this happening once on the marmite motorway ■■

My wife still hasn’t forgiven me for the last time.

Smashed the wifes in last night while she slept :stuck_out_tongue:

Back in 2003 I worked for RPL in Milton Keynes. One of our drivers  was parked in one of the lay-by’s of Junction 18 M4 for the night( not the first one by VOSA,  a bit further down).  He was on his way out to Aberbargoed with 28t of reels. About 0130 in the morning he woke up for a ■■■■, and could hear police radios outside. When he opened the door the copper told him to get dressed and they’d have a chat. Turned out a manic depressive from Cardiff had driven his Vauxhall Frontera up to arse of his trailer at about 65mph!! He hit it that hard it snapped the back axle and bent the middle one!Â

One was killed on the A5 nr Crick last year weren’t they?

Joking aside, there have been a couple of fatals over the last couple of years on the A500 s/b with cars driving into the back of over overnighters.
This has resulted in a couple of lay byes s/b close to J15 of the M6 being closed.

This happened to a bloke at a company I sometime work for, broke the (truck) drivers ribs.

Had 2 in a very short space of time near me (A500 layby near M6 JCT 15),So now they have blocked the layby off permanantly(sp).
