Autobox merc do any Mercedes drivers get the same problem ,

I dont. Its a design fault. Release bearing pulls through the pressure plate. My dealer admitsits a mb fault. New mp4 has a push clutch.

I drive an Axor, and have evolved (devolved, surely?) to use manual mode about 90% of the time. I try to keep the truck rolling as much as possible, even if just 1/2 mph, and then at my moment I apply pressure on the accelerator and shift it up 1 or 2 gears. This ensures a smooth getaway at roundabouts.

If it’s stop start stop start and I’m forced to move off from a standstill I use a different technique. I leave about a car’s length from the line at roundabouts, and I try to read ahead so as to anticipate my moment of escape. I have 10 ft or so to build up a little speed, and hopefully by the time I get to the line, if I’ve read the road right I’m straight out onto the roundabout. At this precise moment I flick it up a gear or two and I’m away, and it holds in gear. If a car comes around, or if I’d accidentally left it in auto and it ■■■■■ around, then I’ve only filled the car’s length I left, and not entered the roundabout. So I get a second shot, although that one has to be timed right or as you say, it gets embarrassing.
