Australian wages

In Perth it us $10 a pint 24 ordinary bog standard beers was $35 everything is more expensive than here by a long way, BUT the people I know who live there seem to want for nothing, if your prepared to work hard you can do very well.

i know a couple moved to Aus , great jobs but were back here after 2 yrs. she missed seeing an old village water pump from her bedroom window . go figure!

The beer can be AU$10 all day long if I am earning £40000 (AU$75300)

The money is less than I am on at the moment but there is the better weather and better way of life to be had.

Regardless of the cost of living there the show makes it look like they cannot wait to get people there, that’s just not the case in my experience. I’ve watched a couple of them, I’m on back shift, and all the applicants are told of the better money they can earn there. Thing is if you look at the updated stories online not one has gone yet, mainly due to lack of work prospects.
Having said that if you & your family fancy a free week in aus or nz the show are always looking for volunteers to have a go as long as you fit the criteria.

Just watching bbc about couple looking to move to aus he is a driver for ecm away all week earning £40000. If he moves to Perth he could get a job working 40 to 50 hours per week home every night earning between £43000 to £53000 per year.
So who’s going?

He’ll need to. Its ridiculously expensive living in Oz.

Got to agree, at weekend you pack some food and drink and off you pop to the park, which will Cost $11 per car but the parks are massive with barbecues just turn the switch and cook your food, most people seem to clean up after themselves, then chill a little bit more in the afternoon and go to the beach for a couple of hours. Love it.
You have to be prepared to struggle the first few years, two of the people I know really struggled he would go away for a week in to the middle of nowhere living in a tent, checking telephone and radio masts, now he’s on at least $100.000 if you want it you can get it, and all he used to be was a forklift truck engineer

You’d have to pay me to drink Australian beer. Absolutely useless at beer are the Aussies.

Can’t see the appeal of Aus myself. It’s a grass is always greener type of place and, frankly it isn’t.

(By the way… It’s not really beer. It’s Kangaroo ■■■■)

Yes and no on the beer, if anyone goes to Perth, in Freemantle across the river, go and find little creatures brewery, excellent
