Speaking of “over the ditch”…
You’ll remember NZ Jamie.
Totally new one to me.
I haven’t gone through it all yet, but the “legacy” link on their site shows a very unfortunate history for the company.
Our now absent friend, Dig, and his wife had one of them and used to go camping with it in the outback wilds of West Aussie.
That contingent traveled from Brisbane to Silverton (where Mad Max was shot) mostly avoiding sealed roads, using many station roads and public dirt roads. Often the arrived at the end of roads to be confronted by the back of ROAD CLOSED signs.
The National Gathering of OKAs was held a Silverton. The return trip was by necessity, on bitumen.
I’ve seen that before Parkroyal, is it a 13 speed Fuller ?
@ramone Certainly looks like it.
Definitely not a 6 speed AEC
Deserted Double Decker: OZ Outback’s Busted Bus - WebUrbanist.
Take the article with a pinch of salt, modern journalism!
It’s an ex-Adelaide Sunbeam trollybus. Little is known about how it got there. Sure as sh..heck, the overhead wires never went that far. Last time I was out there, it was gone.
Its not a Sunbeam it’s a Leyland with no engine. I don’t know about the single decker
The yellow one? Was it diesel powered?
Well he said he was looking for a 8.8 oil engine so diesel. He’s contacted the Leyland Club and two have replied with offers and advice.
We’re talking at crossed purposes, mate. I was referring to the article I linked.
I believe so, I think NZ Jamie (back when) said as much.
Thats about all they’re good for, an eight tonner. I used to have one on 38 ton work, you could measure the standing quarter mile with a calendar .
To my shame, in all the years I lived in the suburbs/ outskirts of Sydney, I’ve never visited. They were once in Tempe (inner SW Sydney suburb), can’t remember where they are now.
