sorry, but it this discussions are really boring. Such things could be discussed by pm or not?

When I registered me here, this thread was one of the points, which was the reason to do so .
Now, this thread is degrated as a discussion platform for some insiders in my eyes.

If you want, you can throw me out, but this is my and maybe many others intention.

The heading is NOT solely about Astran, this is due to the nature of the forward ■■■■■ and it’s grammatical definition, thus, it is translated as 'Astran ‘or’ middle east drivers. Surely, there can’t be that many more ways of kindly explaining this!!!

Someone post a picture or something FFS not bothered if its a Shelvoke & Drury dustcart or a red & yellow milk float

Hullo Sinbin,
Roger I know you mean well and I know how you feel about Astrans, as you were their top sub-contractor for many years. But when you think about it there are not too many of your old colleagues on this site, or certainly not using it, so you would be very lonely on here, if it weas only for the select few to use. There are though many of us on here that do remember both you and those others on Astrans. So it is only natural that people will add their memories and points of view from time to time. If you take the time to look at some other subjects, like for instance A1 Transport Leeds. I know that in your mind they are only European Drivers, but they have all got on the site and have arranged a good old get together later this month in Bradford. There is also I believe a yearly meeting of the Italian drivers ( Mostly Londoners) held every year. Now if you were to organise a meeting of all the Astran drivers, I feel you would not have nowdays very many in attendance. Now If you were to invite all Middle East Drivers then you would have a multitude attend, who would all know and remember you. So come on live and let live, share your time with other mere mortals, who for one reason or another were not in, ( like Brinor  ) Yellow and Red Motors.
Cheers, Archie.

Ok as you all like, the hole thing is boring now will give the site a miss from now on any friends who wish to contact me us a PM.bye bye all

Nice one Jeff    although when some of these old guys mentioned that they were doing locals in Saudi I don’t think thats quite what they meant.

And for franzneufra here’s one of Jimmy Walkers old photo’s of a Joseph Meyer’s Merc. Meyer’s used to do a lot of hanging garments from Turkey and if I am not mistaken that could be a very young Rocky 7, no not the little fellow on the bumper bar the one with the beard.

Hello,
that is is, what I meant. I think, this thread is for trucks of ME Trucks from all countries and companies.
The photo of the yound boys reminds me on a nice story at work some time ago.
We had a machine to load for Vollmer UK, I made the papers in the office and made a small talk with the driver of MARU.We talked about TRUCKNET UK and TOPRUN and suddenly he was laughing. He is on one photo in a thread of Toprun toghether with his dad, just a foto like the one ith the mercedes here.

Yawn,not again Roger.

We all appreciate that Astran and it’s drivers, including subbies, and yourself were high profile on the M/E,everyone that did the run cannot say they never saw an Astran motor.
However, you seem to talk as though Astran were the be all and end all of the M/E!.and their drivers were above other mortals.
Don’t make the mistake of getting too full of your own importance Roger, there were a lot of others did that job with just as much success as anyone else.
I was most surprised when I read The Long Haul Pioneers, how many accidents Astran trucks had been involved in.I know most of the accidents out there were no fault of our drivers in most cases, but one can’t help but think.
If you’re going to give this site a miss, does this mean you wont read this post? Go on Roger, bite back!Or we’ll miss you and your posts.

Sometimes the german humour must be as mystic for brits as it is the other way round.

Take care!
