44T:
Lorry wedged under Bury St Edmunds railway bridge - BBC News
Another “professional” hits a clearly marked bridge.
Not quite sure how he thought he was going to fit under that
Incorrect
Minimum wage does not nearly qualify for the title Professional
The war on bridges will continue as long as it is acceptable for the transport industry to insist that drivers should only think from the neck down and be paid accordingly as we make trucks easier to operate.
Such non thinking bodies are cheap to run and easy to control and will put up with all sorts of crap from minions in the UK’s RDC’s and load/unloading points generally and they will live in appalling overnight conditions.
Once the man from the railway understands this he will realise it will take a lot more than “Clearly Marked” to save his bridges.
And besides we have insurance for that

What a load of absolute nonsense. Nothing to do with minimum wage. When I was on car transporters there were several drivers that decapited cars. That was many years ago but it still happens and as Juddian will tell you they are not on minimum wage.
The usual cause is a driver not taking responsibility for the vehicle he is driving and severe lack of concentration. Any driver that is not aware of the height of his vehicle is either brain dead or probably has a could not care less attitude.

ive got a complete could not care less attitude specifically where speed limits and drivers rules and regulations are concerned and apart from a mild whoopsie when i was 21 with an oil drum sticking up out of the top of the load then ive yet to hit a bridge,so it must be just brain dead drivers who are to blame.
nobodys perfect obviously apart from yourself and the other road legends and all it needs is a slight lapse of concentration before it goes ■■■■ up for your normal driver…cue conor and rowley now?

A care less attitude to drivers rules and regs. Well done it’s always great to see a driver taking pride in their work and in themselves and doing things properly.

well i generally do take pride in my work as anything i drive is usually top spec plant that would be given out willynilly to anyone without them having a well proven track record of getting the job done.
not that your ever likely to know either way but im actually quite proud of my driving and business achievements to be in the position of comfort that im in nowadays.
if i wasnt doing things properly then id have a list of fines as long as your tenacity in posting waffle about being a road commander…
