Archie Paice:
Hullo Germangeezer,
Some good photos mate, who’s that bloke in the blue shirt ? I knew a bloke that looked very much like him 20 years ago, but he had darker hair that that and was a little bit slimmer, always happy and smiling, it must have been his son. Wow! When you see Fred again please give him my regards, good to see him again.
Cheers, Archie.
Hello Archie, it was me Fly sheet who put Freds picture on, I’ve not spoken to him for a couple of months but will make an effort to ring him soon & I’ll give him your regards. He does’nt look bad for a 35 year old does he!!!
Regards

germangeezer:
blimey john those photos bring back a few memories of you and fred, the last time i shipped over with you to patras was about nov 95 if i remember correctly you wanted to do some turkish work but you only had a 12m tilt which wasnt big enough, i was running a white magnum then with a blue 13.6 supercube for that [zb] peter hunt at assured freight, sorry to here about maurice he pulled the wiskey trick with me on the superfast back to ancona boy could he drink that [zb]!!!, the f12 is exactly how i remember it when it was dirty, sorry about the scouse bit it was a long time ago mate, regards paul
Hey Paul I’ve been called plenty worse believe me! Turners did have me but only for a couple of trips in winter 95, I ended up doing Russia January 96 & sort of stuck it out up there around the Baltics for a few years. Peter Hunt I only vaguely new him I did a bit of round tripping for them myself way back when & would quite often load home for Argos in Piraeus. Maurice put me off Scotch tea for life poxy stuff I heave even now when I smell it! I kept that old F12 a couple of years but the pig of a thing only did around 5mpg which was fine when full of red or cheap Soviet squirt but when they started making a fuss about sealing belly tanks in Dover its days where over, it ended up going to somwhere in South America I believe bless it!
Regards
Cooperman
john that old girl is worth a fortune now either the collectors or the exporters would pay big bucks for her, nothing changed for me much still got a few motors but just 8 wheel tippers doing muckaway around london now but it aint worth a toss now, she wants me to go back to one motor i think she could be right its as hard as its ever been for us down here at the moment, still chin up and all that, the picture of jerry still a smooth dude eh even tho he must be 40 now, what you up to these days you aint working for someone surely not? couldnt see the the cooperman doing that!

I don’t suppose its easy easy having drivers around you, maybe Mrs germangeezer is right & its less stress having 1, I’ve tried upping it twice Freds son Mark was my last driver doing Greece & Marocco for me but there was’nt any money in it so I sold him & the FH to a decent guy that kept him busy for a good while.
I spend a lot of time around the bright lights delivering drilling rigs I’ll bet I’ve been to some of them sites your going to! I’ll post a couple of pics of my current contraption its not much different to anything else you’ll have seen me in.
I did become an employed driver over in Canada for a spell but came back & resumed ownerdriverism again. I’ll put a couple of pics on of my motor I’ve had it a few years on & off, I sold it to go away then bought it back on arrival home!
Does any one remember a old rouge from the london area called shoestring transport iirc he had a blue f12 proper old driver.
that darling is a credit to you john, ill keep my eye out for you down here now.
just found this place after noseing around the net good job the devil didnt cast his net here lol he would get a few lol [ me for one ] used to be on for ferry freighting for a while till a big prob in austria ohhps rather foget that one then went on to drive for a few irish companies till they wouldnt let have my licence back after a bike smash but ok now trying to keep the licence just in case lol see you all been up to all sorts too ,nice to see some proper drivers about ohh see fly-sheet and loads of others on here some sadly gone ,will see if i got any pics about the place here.
archie, sorry i havent got back to you before now, was really good to see you last month, you did look well, enjoyed our little chat, you have a great time when you go globetrotting, take care old friend also you charlie all the very best in your new life mate all the very best to you wish you the very best and you toddster, well elo you old old old old old person.
Maciver the driver, thanks for that Mac much appreciated I’ve just passed my us car driving test (some would say about time) but they do’nt allow you to drive on a uk one for more than a month so its on to the hgv now, as I do’nt wish to part with the equivalent of £3000.00 to do a 160 hr course I’m going to have to get a regular job with a company thats recognised by their version of the DVLA who will give me a waiver form which will allow me to get a CDL (commercial drivers licence), still a bit of long haul driving will allow me to see the states at least. Wonder how it’ll compare to doing the Greek run at least they all speak the same language, and compared to the modern trucks in europe now most of their’s are still behind the times, a lot are still using steel suspension on the trailers and crash boxes whereas most new euro long distance trucks have auto boxes in them. Still it’ll be like driving the old transcon again, happy days.
regards Charlie.
crash box or not, you will still have a better time over there than we do here, it wont be as good as it was doing greece cos we aint wiv yer, take care mate, all the best me.
