Even if i was at £6 an hour i wouldnt be too far off what i was earning at the moment, i understand that it would take a few more hours to get to where I am at, BUT in the long run i would for sure earn more than i could here!
The hourly rate is misleading because most firms pay you in a way designed to minimise tax requirements, both for themselves and you.
If you were to drive an articulated lorry, and you were to go away all week then you would expect to take home an absolute minimum of £450 a week and normally nearer £500, including your night-out money.
Some people say you shouldn’t include night-out money in your wages but it is generally about £25 a night, I never spend £25 when I’m parked up for the evening, and £25 is £25, which when multiplied by 20 nights a month adds up to a sizeable amount.
Certainly, if you live two minutes away from Trafford Park then you have a far better chance of finding work than most.
The bottom line is that if you want to do it, you should do it. Driving a truck is “Man’s work” whereas working in a call centre is “Woman’s work”

If I was any good at diplomacy, I would have been a diplomat.

But very true! All i do is work with woo woo’s and women!
Whe women first started taking mens work they were quick to scream that they were entitled to the jobs, but when men started doing child care and nursing they were quite unhappy about the changes to their domain.

Nearly correct. Driving a truck is a Mug’s Game and working in a call centre is ideal if you like to sit on your arse all day listening to gossping females all for the same dough as a driver…
