Am I being taken for a ride?

The thing I soon learned is if you need to ask the question " am I being taken for a ride" then the chances are that you indeed are being taken for a ride.

Yeah you are. If I was in your shoes the questions I’d be asking are; “is the Company in financial difficulties?” If the answer was yes, then I’d understand to a certain extent but then ask myself whether it was up to me to help them out of their problems. If I figured it wasn’t my job to do that or if the Co are financially secure then I’d politely explain my demands and also my case for an immediate across the board 50% pay increase.

If that didn’t work I’d take my labour elsewhere.

Since when, in history, did an HGV driver get a 50% pay rise, upon asking for it, from his boss?

I’d be surprised if his boss didn’t fall down laughing!
