Alchohol and tramping

Not ex-forces, and not an ex-cop either, just to make clear. Donā€™t want to claim to be what I ainā€™t.
No hard feelings I hope, just had a gutsfull of H&S BS today and havenā€™t had my beer yetā€¦

what about taking photoā€™s while driving. :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

My view for what itā€™s worthā€¦
If you have a skin full and are in your bunk overnight on a 9/11 off then youā€™d be hard pushed to get done for drink driving, especially if youā€™ve just got your head down. A decent brief should argue that whilst you accept you were over the limit you had no intention of driving. I bet plod would fancy his chances though if they breathalysed you when you were about to book back on after a 9/11 off and were about to restart your day.

Still think itā€™s dangerous
We are all grown ups (well, at least over 18 if we hold a licence) and what we do is our business. If you wanna do it, then do it. Then accept the consequences if it goes wrong. Simples

There are some stupid questions asked on here if you need to ask a question like that donā€™t drink simple.

Can the old bill do you for being over the limit whilst in charge of a vehicle regarding a truck since the tacho can prove you have not driven the truck?? Where as in a car thereā€™s nothing to prove you havenā€™t drove it??

In all my years of driving (and of drinking in the evenings) I have only ever had a cop knock my door once - and that was only because some ā– ā– ā–  had nicked a police car and left it in the middle of the lorry park! Told him we had all swapped keys and that I had my mateā€™s key, and he had mine  They were waiting for us in the morning thoā€™. The cafe had never been so busy with us all scarfing coffee & bacon butties for a couple of hours

Dont breath and drive
breathing causes cancer - cancer causes you to die - dieing causes you to crash.

Yes they can.
Itā€™s up to the defendent to prove his innocence.

The Sarge:
If you want a drink -have a drink. Jeez - do you want to check on whether you should wipe your arse North to South or East to West??
:unamused:

Itā€™s not that simple any more. Years ago people would generally mind their own business, you went for a pint, went to bed, got up the next day and carried on with your life.

These days a lot of people are made to wear uniforms, most people have a mobile phone, most mobile phones have cameras, there are hotlines to report drink-driving, busybodies who donā€™t like THUNDERING JUGGERNAUGHTS anywhere near them, multi-agency checks etc etc etc

Itā€™s very easy to ā€œbring the company into disreputeā€ for example. I know people who have lost their jobs for being in a pub at lunchtime wearing the uniform of a large parcel carrier, Iā€™m sure there are many other cases.

The law isnā€™t clear either. Remember the guy who drove off the boat in Holyhead and got nicked even though he was parking up for the night in the port?

The beak said even though he wasnā€™t on a public road, he was in a place to which the public have access. Now that might be hard to swallow, given the check-in and security controls etc, but once through, people have right not to be put at risk by other people who are drunk and driving motor vehicles.

Now if that stood up, your local supermarket carpark or layby is a definite no-no.

If your a proffesional driver take a proffesional attitude to it.
Have a pint or two if you want
If you need a skinfull every night might be time for a career change.

Maybe a pint or two wonā€™t hurt, but surely its not worth the aggro having a skin full, unless your young and stupid like I once was lol.

Just imagine how pretty a DR10 would look on your licence. Still want that skinful?

It would look pretty at the side of my DCPC  :grimacing:

Chalk round your vehicle before you go to the pub :stuck_out_tongue:
