Roop298:
I went with driverhire as they were recomended by a freind. I drove sprinters for the last month. I eased myself into roadcraft with the occasional c1 or class 2.
after that I went full ■■■■■■ and followed Beezles advice.
The rest is (a short) history.
Personally, I’d say ease yourself in and try to stay out of trouble. when you’re ready to move up, move agents and haggle your position up to your class. Frankly, I bit the sharp end of a howitzer shell but I’m on my way where I want to be.
To quote my ‘mentor’: take your time and if in doubt, ask. If that fails, pull over, stop, assess the situation, look at your options and take the one of least resistance.
Am I going to get called into court at some point?
Palmer & Harvey want to see me on Thursday for a chat, and there looking to start me and a bunch of new pass drivers if our personality and attitude is right.
Really excited for this, there depot isn’t too far away either.
Will update on this Thursday
interview went well, got an assessment drive next Thursday, they have said if that goes well they will start me.
Pay is 24k-26k depending on performance.
Be really happy if I get this, after a whole 5 days of trying to get work

It could be a good start to the new year for you then
Thought I’d wrap this up, been taken on at Palmer & Harvey.
For info they currently pay class 2 drivers £10.44 per hour, 44 hours per week but overtime is banked hours unless you work an extra day, then it’s a flat rate
