errr scanny how does having no erperience on a job and running bent have to do with what joe said
the client seem to like being on the ball so surely they would not want me working illegally or doing something i am not trained on ie sending me out without being shown what to do. they dont expect someone with decades of experience within that field
scanny77: it turns out i misheard anyway. im not delivering plant. im delivering PLANTS
Priceless!!! I am sat here wetting myself … such a good worker for the agency, yet he can’t even hear the instructions right!! The type of bloke who jumps in the cab and heads straight off to Cambridge in Cambridgeshire without checking the notes properly.
Not a lot of difference between PLANT and PLANTS, I suppose except for the weight. I can just see him asking how to chain the load down in the morning and everyone giving him ‘that look’

i am out on my first plant job on monday
Now we know that ‘plant’ means plants, it puts a different light on it!!
One thing that will make your life easier Richie, is once you have completed a delivery and they have given you back the return Dutch Trolleys, strip them down and stack the trolley bases on top of each other; keep one base with it’s uprights still fitted and then stack all the other uprights (long-ways) on it. Stack all the shelves on another one trolley (with uprights). This way you’ll only have a few empties to move out of the way for your next delivery.
Also make sure if they only use/accept a certain type of Dutch Trolley; the main ones (can’t think of their name just now) have a hologram sticker on them. They are usually accountable, a bit like blue Chep pallets.
If you’re overnighting, ask before you set off if you will have to water them!!
it turns out i misheard anyway. im not delivering plant. im delivering PLANTS
[zb] priceless daffodils or dozers not much diffrence
get yourself a copy of the truckstop guide from the highways agency (bit late for monday though). have a look at the places to park forum or just dump it on a ind est.

One small piece of advice from me… If you tighten the chains with sylvesters and a scaffold tube be VERY careful when undoing them again … blood and snot everywhere will often occur
By the sound of it he wouldn’t know what a sylvestor is even if it smacked him in the face. He’s a bit of a of Tom Pep if you ask me.
Another tip - if you are using a tail lift with the Dutch trolleys, make sure the trailer is level or better still tail high a little. Its not fun if they start rollin towards you and you are perched on the back - trust me I know. Also have the swivel wheels up against the stops on the lift. If you have them the other way, and you are not level sideways, they can slip round and come off the side… most embarassing.
well if your doing plants you wont get much experience B&Q rush finishes this week so i’ve heard
maybe Jammymutt has a loading plan he can upload to the site
