There is some good advice on here that I totally agree with.
Don’t Panic think things through.
Don’t get stressed, not easy when dealing with timed deliveries, office staff, car drivers, other truck drivers, delivery point staff and trying to stick to the tacho regs, especially when new at the job, but get it sorted and you’ll find the job easier.
Plan ahead and give yourself space on the road and at delivery points.
Don’t give up the first time the job gets hard, I nearly did after the first couple of weeks, but thankfully stuck at it and it’s meant I’ve had a reasonably well paid work for the last 20 years.
Develop a Bull ■■■■ filter, you’ll really going to need it or you’ll believe and repeat some right crap.
If you ever think, that’s ■■■■■■■ tight! As you edge forward or blind side reverse… Get out and look! Don’t keep edging and edging as before you know it you have ripped a gate out, pulled down a wall or hit a car, don’t rush and don’t be lazy, get out!
I get the i have had bigger trucks down here last week, they always say they get the milk tanker or the bin lorry is the favourite, when you arrive they say,i did not realise you were that big,so they have to hand ball their stuff up the narrow lane.

So true!!!
Always assess whether you can get in and out of a delivery point before driving in. Don’t rely on customers or staff as they don’t know the difference between a 7.5t and a 26t truck. Many a time someone has said “oh yeah we’ve had trucks in here before” then they look at your truck and say “oh maybe not as big as that!”
Take your time and relax, you will enjoy the job more.
