Hi,
Whats the exam like as im nervous when doing exams.
thanks
Just realized England are playing on the Monday night. Any recommendations for a decent pub in the area to watch it?
It’s the referendum as well that week - remember to register to vote by post anyone who is travelling up from other parts of the country!
Plenty of pubs with Sky Sports locally!

Hi benji1666,
The ADR course follows a syllabus set by the DfT, so the exams are designed to test that the required training has been delivered by the instructor and assimilated by the candidate.
The process is quite straightforward, so I’d advise that you listen to the lessons carefully and ask a (relevant) question if you find that you don’t understand something.
As for the actual exams, they are ALL multiple choice, so the correct answer WILL be written right there in front of you as one of the multiple choice options.
All you need to do then is to read the questions and the options VERY CAREFULLY and put an “X” in the correct box on the answer sheet.
That means that there is no productive writing (essays etc) needed in the exams.
Your instructor will explain everything to you as your course progresses, hence my advice to listen carefully.
Good Luck, and please don’t get stressed about it, because there is really no need to.
Thanks for clearing that up Dave. For those who don’t know, Dave is the ADR expert on the forum so he is worth listening to!
Good luck to all doing ADR.

Eh up Pete.
I did my class 1 with Nick from your place and more recently some of my CPC with you and I’m lookin to sort my ADR out at the minute but I need the tanker module rather than packages (or both), am I also right in thinking that’d count for 4 days CPC?
ps. Can’t imagine there’ll be a nice B&B or pub in stanton hill
James
Hi James
You’ll need to talk to the office about the cpc hours; not something I get involved in.
And you’re absolutely correct, no decent pubs in Stanton Hill (that I’m aware of) but you don’t have to go far - so still local.

Hi James,
I can understand your wish to swerve the packages module, but there are a couple of things that I’d just point out…
The packages module is only a minimum of 1.5hrs (usually on day #2)
It’s perfectly OK under SQA’s rules for ADR courses for a candidate (you) to leave out the packages module from their ADR qualification and not take the exam (thereby saving money,) but I’d advise that you’d be there anyway for the morning of day #2 in order to complete your ADR Core module, and you’d need to be there after the Packages module in order to take one of the Class modules.
Therefore I’d suggest that you consider sitting through the Packages lesson in order that day #2 counts toward your ‘normal’ 21 hrs for DCPC.
At the time of making your booking, you’d need to tell whoever takes your booking that you prefer not to take the Packages exam, then you’ll not be entered for it when they book the exams on the SQA database.
DCPC is NOT automatic, so you’d need to ask at the time of booking whether the tanker module can count towards DCPC at PSTT, because not all ADR providers offer DCPC for their ADR tanker module, so it’s all about asking the right questions at the time of making a booking.
Thanks for that Dave. I make no bones about it that ADR isn’t something I know anything about. Thankfully I have really good staff who look after it! But I can tell you that, in our particular case, the tanker part is a cpc module.
Ask me one on trucks!!

Hi Pete, are you running anymore ADR courses after June 20th?
Yes. The ADR course runs every 3 months so the next one will be September. Best to call the office for dates and reserve a space.
