According to volkswagen.co.uk, they say that typical consumption is 1-1.5 litres per 620 miles, which is suspiciously close to 1000 km that I think it’s probably just an imperial conversion.
From what I can find online, the A6 has a 17-litre tank, so a full tank should get you somewhere between 10000 and 17000 km. So, probably enough to get you to the next service, unless you’re lead-footed.
Having spent several hours helping a friend completely flush thick sludge from his cooling system after he mixed two different types of coolant… I can assure you coolant isn’t just coolant.

Perhaps you could have spent more time with him replacing his head gasket too?

but ive grown up (a little) I’m now enjoying the fuel gauge not being in a race with the speedometer

infact it went Croydon to Manchester to Golden Fleece services before the real McCoy was put in.
The tank was empty so 100% water as bloody Beconsfield services end of M40 haven’t had add-blu for a month!!!
