From that picture it looks like the passenger side took the direct impact from the crash, hopefully all involved will be ok. We all deserve to go home to our families at the end of the day.
Maybe if we all drove in a proper manner more of us would go home. The ones that drive like idiots everyday do not deserve anything apart from losing their license.
Actually contraflow now I see that image I think your right but when I did see it it was still pitch black and I was doing about 60 going the other way so actually I think you are right pal sorry old chap
Another gofart off the road (improvements greatly accepted)

Any one know anymore about it southbound a stobbie ran up the arse of a chemical tanker anyone know how the drivers are?
It’s one of our lads from our depot,so I was told he was cut out,leg injuries ,but is conscious,on his way from donny down notts ,derby area.
Asked when I got back to night if they had any updates as to how he was,but don’t know any more.
Fingers crossed time

If I didn’t know the chap I’d probably be thinking as you,but I do and I just can’t see it,just not the driving like a idiot type( speed/ too close), or maybe nights,15 hrs,out on his feet, mistake.
I don’t know what to think to be honest, maybe your right, but I’ve witnessed his driving and well ,I’d of said he’s the opposite, more likely to be holding you up,if you know what I mean.
I’m just glad he’s here, the why,s,maybes can be sorted out later

Surely, unless a mechanical defect was present then it is clear that the driver did not have enough room in front of him to react to the vehicle stopping in front of him or he was otherwise distracted.
Sure, the lorry could have pulled in too early but then if it was me, I would have backed off immediately. It really ■■■■■■ me off when people sit on the limiter and won’t let you pass. What’s a few seconds going to cost?

It’s obvious that something stopped the truck ahead that he hit maybe connected to the car in front of it.It’s also obvious that for whatever reason he couldn’t stop in time. What it does prove is that while going slower will probably help regarding the severity of the impact and level of resulting damage when the inevitable collision happens it won’t actually prevent the collision because that’s all about having enough room ahead. In which case it’s all about speration distances not speed while putting the engine and a bonnet in front of the cab would probably also be of greater benefit than plodding along in the hope that ever lower speeds will always protect people if/when they hit things for whatever reason.

Must if been either that or the news folk don’t know a curtain sider from a tanker ( I didn’t know what it ran up the arse of at the time )
traffic reports are sometimes “misguided” best example i can think of from experiance is the m18 on NYE. sat in creeping traffic. sally traffic and local TA reporting a lorry overturned (balls) only to be confronted by a white GOLF GT on its side 2 miles further up road. maybe C/S had chems on board?

dafpower:
I don’t think that’s the accident this was a curtain sider stobbie with green curtains a silver car at the front not sure about the truck in the middle also it was at the end of the chevrons at the start of the exit slip if that makes sense but a similar incident
I think you need your eyesight testing.
These pictures are from the incident you claimed to have “seen” this morning.
