2 I can’t believe drivers are siding with management against a fellow driver,Whether he was right or wrong I’d always be on the driver side.
3 as for how he spoke too you, there’s always two sides to a story, the amount of times I’ve heard t.o bods talk Down to drivers as if were that bit of ■■■■ on the bottom of there’s shoes ,then all helllets loose when we respond.
4 as I always say you can take my job away but not my license, away you go

Suppose it depends how offensive he was, if he was dropping the C bomb then you’d have to say something but let’s hope its a one off, everyone deserves a second chance, you don’t know what’s going on at home for him, I know that’s no excuse but a little empathy is a good trait in a TM.

I think you’ve done right, I’d still have a little chat with him by the end of the week, just to make it clear that it’s not acceptable to speak to you like that - but do it in a friendly way so as not to get his back up again.

I’ve snapped at bosses in the past, it’s cost me my job, and as I’ve put it’s not been just once either.
Sometimes you can’t help it, stuff gets on top of you and you just blow, you don’t mean anything by it, I’ve even had to apologise to a boss who was a friend too after I blew.
I discovered mine was down to lack of food, if I’ve not eaten I literally go a bit depressed and snappy, it took someone else who has known me for years to point this out though.

It is unacceptable but is going to happen, there’s a lot of stuff already going on, you are at breaking point when ‘that’ phone call comes in and you just snap, it’s not that the request in unreasonable or even going to bother you too much, it’s just the timing.

I have decided now that I’ll stay polite and stop for food before I respond if I feel like snapping, but I still quit a job last week because I snapped, so much for that idea then.

He has set the rules. Work some ■■■■■ into him. If he has a problem sort it out like a bloke. Never mind all this arsjng about with disciplinary action and verbal warnings and blah blah blah.

Tell him you want a word. Tear him a new one as he obviously finds it acceptable to ■■■■ at you so ■■■■ back at him.

That’s a strange attitude. I prefer to take each situation on its merits. In this case - and I grant you we’ve only heard one side of the story - it sounds like the driver chucked his teddy on being asked to do, er, what he’s paid to do. Personally, I have no sympathy with that attitude even before it all descends into unneccessary rudeness. Drivers can be ■■■■■■■■■ too, you know …

It’s a good job then. Some blokes forget they’re on a good touch. If it was rubbish money then you’d have to put up with a bit of Arj just to get bums on seats.

so theres a fair chance he might have been a little bit ■■■■■■ off that he had maybe rung the misses and said i will be home tonight luv. what time was he due in after doing this 15 for next days work. does this driver get asked to “do us a favour” on a regular basis?. with it being thursday how many 15’s has he already done and will his planning reflect the favour to get him back friday night instead of a saturday run in.

was the trailer on route back to the yard or miles out of his way? what were the other options exhausted. you seem to be leaving a lot out of the story.

i’m glad to see there are so many drivers that want to work 15 hours a day on the forum. good work lads

^^^^^^^^ all very valid points
