Adonis money is not the main reason some drivers do the job. There are many other factors to getting job satisfaction.
I bet you aint earning much at all when you add it all up but I bet your boss loves you to bits because he is the one making the money. Not you.

Like all the others driving like a lunatic thinking it is big & clever, for wages of between £9 to £11 per hour. A good thing? my word it is pretty frightening the sense of it all.

thats the same pish logic as conor has been spouting for years.
i believe he has the franchise for that…never mow another mans lawn.
i can see how plobbing all legal in a night trunk must be totally satisfying.or alternatively whatever job you and your alter egos want to think you do…
isnt it amazing that you all work the same shift?..mind boggling.
just work the way that suits you.if your happy with your wage and job, then crack on…let the beancounters and agency plobber cannon fodder live in the fantasy of satisfaction.

Yeah, not holding down a full time job for a quarter of a century, doing the same run and being as miserable as possible because fun isn’t allowed sounds like the recipe for perfect job satisfaction. :unamused: don’t forget to tell everyone that you make excellent money and then come out with a figure of 18k a year. Tragic. That’s all aimed at Conor, obviously, because you’re sooking right up his bum trying to white knight him.

You boot licking lizard.

A.

So I was right your wages are crap.

Adonis.:
I don’t work for the types of companies you work for where it’s acceptable to take 15 hours to do an 8 hour shift.

No instead you take 15hrs work and do it in 8.

My boss doesn’t set me impossible work so I don’t need to tell him that it can’t be done.

Really? I set you a challenge. Drive at the legal limits for a fortnight if you’re capable of such a thing given you bleat on about how you are such a good driver, do everything by the book - loads strapped properly, everything. Let us know how long it is before your boss is asking why you’re taking so long and how long it is before you’re having to say you can’t do something. If your boss is truly not setting work that can only be done by shortcutting and speeding he won’t be complaining and you won’t need to say you can’t do a single job or make a single ferry booking.

Personally I think every time you go into the office you take a tub of vaseline with you so you can get nicely lubed up when he takes you into the back for a special chat.

You may think you’re getting paid good money because you come from somewhere where wages are generally pish unless you drive a lorry and are out all week but you’re kidding yourself and it can only be made to appear to be half acceptable money by you charging around like your backside is on fire. If you were to actually do it properly it would take a lot longer to do the loads you do and you’d be forced to realise that the trip money you get means you’re working for less than minimum wage.

Meanwhile all of us hourly rate monkeys and the mainland trampers who are doing far less work than you for the same money are mocking you for your stupidity and that you’re too thick to realise what a mug your company is taking you for.

Trip money is where its at. Theres an option at our place for employed drivers, paid hourly or per load. 95% choose the latter. Theres more of an incentive to get the job done rather than plobbing along at 40 wasting the day ahead. No one is taken for a mug as it benefits both drivers and the company. Drivers are looked after well with the tools for the job, R620’s and FH 500’s /540’s which are kept top notch by keen drivers who are also on a no dmage bonus scheme.
Whats so wrong with getting a 15hr job done in 8hrs?? The particular run i do cannot possibly be done within a weeks driving time ■■■■■■■ around on the road at club plant pot type speeds. Production not waste…

Bit of argy bargy on here!
Always kept to the limits, weight and speed, especially on the A75, yes had all the heroes trying to push me on…I was hourly paid, why rush? I would get out their way if I could, but I used to think, would he move over for me?
One pushed me from the bank after Dumfries to the dual bit, giving me the finger through the tassels in his cab curtains as he passed.
When I got to Carlisle to fuel up, guess who was blocking a pump, taking his break on it?
He didnt seem that keen to talk to me at when I asked him why he had given me the finger, he sank back behind the tassels

I bet hes still playing with his spot lights, I’m in Spain for the next 3 months enjoying my early retirement.

To be fair anyone who actually drives at 40mph on the A75 needs a brown boot in the tailpipe… Only way to go down her is full open with the CB on 19 to get any reports of cameras!

FFS! 350£ a pair? My 70eur Nike fabric trainers and 8eur crocs pale into insignificance :stuck_out_tongue: I have noticed those mat flattening boots seem the choice of Tarrants drivers… :grimacing:

You are doomed fella like some others on here. There have been many before you but there will not be so many after you.Either you will burn yourself out or something a lot worse.
I doubt very much you earn good money when you look at the whole picture compared to some others who work a normal 40 hour week.

Just a shame the lies you spout aren’t as consistent, you boring wretch.

Like I said before, all this ‘‘Paddy Chique’’ stuff  , is like a throwback to the early 80s, when lads used to walk around with checked shirt, body warmer, 501 Levis, Clint Eastwood cowboy boots, baseball cap and shades, looking like Chris Kristofferson on his day off.
Jeez…After reading that back, I’ve just realised I’ve never grown out of some of that after all :open_mouth:
