I have not offered any advice I’ve only ever given my opinion.

You appear to have a very short memory:

My advice to the driver would be just get a warehouse job and save yourself the grief of driving a truck

You got me.
No doubt you saved some poor driver from ending up in the warehouse.
To clarify I have not given any serious advice.

Ha ha , takes his lisense off him , what a stupid thing to say , there’s a bridge hit what seems like every day in Grantham , pics in journal every week , thered be no drivers left if you took the lisense off every driver who hit a bridge

You should know dozy as its your lot that do most of the bridge bashing.
Take their licence away is a great idea, get rid of most of the EE’s and the dross that way less drivers better wages for the competent ones that are left.
Winner winner chicken dinner, oh no its FRIDAY Steak tonight or are you in a lay-by with your pasty and tizer ?

Of all the weeks I choose to take my remaining holidays, this is one week I wish I was in the office to find out some factual information about this incident

It was a Howard Tenens driver, no idea if it was a Tenens unit or if they had farmed the work out further as there have been a lot in recently. Definitely not a B&Q unit, not even a hire-in one as they are all Mercs at the moment. I gather there are now questions over why Core & agency are given fairly thorough assessments/training but outside contractors just turn up, hitch up & drive out. I’m guessing the driver was totally unaware of the height of his trailer.

Talking to my work mate who saw him heading towards the bridge and tried to flash him to make him aware

All of our outsiders are given single deck only and we have 1 store that the direct route has a bridge a single hits (yeah, they gave a contractor that store and he scraped it) some of it is we use moving deck trailers but most is we dont trust them not to smash a bridge.

As above, the bridge is marked as 4.5 metres AND 15 ft…4.5 metres is 14 ft 9  so which is it, oh and dont forget to add an extra 4 inches to your vehicles height if your driving a Scania with the tag up
