Jack Graham:
Hi all!, myself and Stuart Broughton are getting things together for the next reunion, it will be August 9th or 16th which is a Saturday, it will be for everyone wives wags etc, so don’t let us down interest has dwindled since the last one we had so it’s time to spill some more diesel on another pub floor and have a laugh and remind us that we still have interest in what a great friendship we had all those years ago, I met with Dave Smith and Billy Parkinson a few month’s ago up where I live, and we had a great time reminding us of what we had all those years ago, I also notice that almost no-one looks on our page any more so wont know what’s going in, but we need to spread the word again and get all involved so we don’t forget our past.
Stuart is going to put on this page the name of the pub and where it is, it’s the Green Man, Undercliffe, Bradford, but he will be putting details of where it is, so let’s have some support and get as many there as possible, this also includes other drivers from our area who worked together, including owner drivers.
Kind Regards to you all :-Jack Graham  :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi jack, sorry I missed your call today, any them dates are good and a bit warmer:wink:

Thanks Kieth, I’ll make it the 16th August then so we can have a definite date to go on, so anyone else who wants to know it’s the “16th August then”, so we can all go to church next Sunday and pray for a good turn-out so help me god. :-Jack   :unamused: :smiling_imp:

Mornin’ Stuart, Mornin’ Jack,
It’s been a couple of years since I posted anything on the forum. How are you both?
I shall be doing my best to attend the REUNION (with the wife) on the 16th Aug.
Will you want me to bring some old photo’s, of the good old days?
If anyone is interested in seeing what it was like in the 80’s driving on the continent. Then go to pages 30/31 and just click on the links.

I have got a few phone numbers of the old lads. Dave Thomas , Les Mullin and Tony Wood, (mechanic) Should I give them a bell?

See you all later,

Stuart Sugden (Dry Ginger)

Hi Stuart, I could do with Dave Thomas and Tony wood’s numbers, there’s also Jack Myers who must have changed his number, and jack tether I dont know anyone who even knows where he lives now, I think I’ve got about 20 up to now who said yes but have to remind them before the date, also by all means bring some photo’s it could kick a few brains back into action, I’ll try finding some of mine but most of them are on the old film with negetives, because we didn’t have digital cameras in those days and mine are all over the house packed into drawers and things. Kind Regards :-Jack

Good afternoon Gentlemen, Is there anyone out there? The site has been very quiet recently, how about a JMR story? He got a phone call from Bradford that a load of Gypsies had set up camp on the trailer park at the top of Mill Lane by the Wakefield Rd roundabout. He drove over to Bradford alone (I doubt if Hutchinson had the bottle ) and spoke to the Gypsies for a short time.Later on they upped sticks and vanished. On being asked how he had got rid of them so quickly he said I just told them the truth= If they did not move I would bring enough trailers down to make sure they were blocked in for months and months.

Hi “maxhagar”, your right it’s been quiet for a long time now, I’ve been trying to get interest in the reunion, calling and emailing etc, up to now I’ve got about 20 drivers on my list, I know there should be more eventually but then it’s not until 16th August, so there could be time for a few more, but I have to say it’s open for other drivers from the area, some we should know since we all worked together years ago so it’s open to all, one or two are on holiday but that’s normal what ever time we have it, but thanks for your in-put to the thread at least I’ll talk to you. Regards :-Jack. :smiling_imp: :stuck_out_tongue: PS:- happy father’s day on Sunday to one and all.

hi jack managed to get jack tethers number for you its 01924 443829 i will try and make reunion this year

Hi John, thanks for the number, you must be the only one who has Jack Tether’s number, I’ve been trying for a couple of years to find his number and where he’s living and at last here it is, if it wasn’t for trucknet I’d have never found out, but while I’m hitting the keys talking to you I’ve just rang Jack had a natter and he’ll be there, which proves that keeping in contact works, after all this time I have Jack’s number again, so once again John thanks for the info, I don’t know where you found it but it worked. Regards :-Jack Graham.

Hi John, I do remember him at the first reunion but didn’t get his contact number before he went home and you are the first to come up with it, so thank’s again, regarding the job being easier then makes me angry, they say we have to move with the times and make progress, the problem is that the ones saying this never lived in the days when we didn’t have to answer to Brussels for everything, and now we do they think it’s all good, but it’s not!, the work-place was a better where you could enjoy going to work working hard and laughing at the end of the day, but now all we have is “Big Brother” looking down on everything we do, everything we say, everything think and my god if you dare to step out of line your in court facing the judge who also know’s nothing about what driver’s have to put up with every day of there working lives, that’s why no-one wants the job any more, it’s riddled with too much red tape and laws that dont work in the real world.
“But” I must come down from my soap-box because I get wound up and often say too much, just in case “big brother” is looking down on me and drag’s an old git into court for disrespecting “modern rules” of transport. Sorry about that :-Jack  :imp:  :grimacing: See you on 16th August.

remember Ian Anderson ringing me if I know if any one with a F10 for sale,he was going to get it painted A ONE colours, that would look good outside the pub, keith

Don’t know about an F10, but I do know where there’s an F88 290 converted to a break down that’s been doing nothing for a long time in a bus companies yard, it came from Wakefield before Bedale and has been there ever since. :- Jack
