hi ramone,Coleman’s was that a Bradford firm ,seems to ring a bell.did any of the drivers come to work for a one,not up on Bradford firms been a Leeds lad
Yeah they were a bradford firm and quite a few ex A One drivers drove for them
Sorry I’ve not been on for a while lads, I’ve had a virus on my computer and it gave me quite a few problems, and being an old timer I couldn’t fix it myself, it had to go to the shop and I had to dig deep into my empty pockets to find some loose change to pay for it, but it’s OK now so Keith2 and Ramone wont have to talk to themselves any more.
Don’t forget we still need plenty more ideas for our next reunion, Regards :-Jack.

well lads we have made a 1000 posts but could do with a few more some driver stories, good or bad, like Jack Graham says,we are just chewing the fat
Just chewing the fat, and some of us have plenty fat to chew on now, I think I’ve gained about 2 and a half stone since I last worked, which proves that the harder we worked the healthier we were, we may have sat on our arses for hours at a time, but when we got out of the cab there was work to do, not like it is today where they have machines doing the work for them,:-Jack
Thanks Keith2 for helping me with the photo’s,
I’m not 100% sure what the empty 6 wheeler is but we had a few 6 wheeler Seddons in the early 1960s but it looks like this one was taken in the late 1950s before Fielder built the new body shop, because where it’s parked was on the end of Fitzwilliam Street where the body shop was built, and the Trader loaded up to the hilt was normal, they look like a load of botany’s which would have weighed at least 14 to 15 ton, which was not bad for a 7 toner before the second axle was fitted and the chassis extended, and remember, no power steering and only a 4 speed box, I reckon J G Fielder did those Ford Traders proud because they sure made him a rich man, they said that he got a new free car from Ford every couple of years for all the money he spent on there waggons. :-Jack Graham

I’ve just come back - bored stiff. The place is full of Russians so the Thais lump all the us Farangs together so no smiles & no politeness is the order of the day. The weather has been bad- lots of rain & airplane coat to ride a scooter or you will frizz. Maybe I’m a pervert but I really like coming back to UK home & climate but still got jlag …its 03.47 & I am wide awake.
Basically I got the hump with being a permanent tourist . You can’t make money in LOS, just spend it. When Winter comes I suppose I will be first on the plane? LOL

Its a Leyland.-Beaver
Spot on Harry, I remembered after I’d posted it on the web, your brain must be in better condition than mine, you can just see the wings covered up by the paint job on the front of the cab, but it wasn’t there when I started in the early 60s, it looks like one of the ex BRS lorries he took over when he started in transport when they were De-nationalising the BRS when they had the depot on Fitzwilliam Street.

Hi Stuart, I think it’s time to get our heads together and pick a date and place, the lads are a bit slow coming back this time with info of what they want, so if we can arrange a meeting then we’ll get on with it, so if we have a conversation with Stuart Sugden this next week we can make a start and choose between us what were doing, I think if we phone the lads who are not on the web and get some ideas from them, we can make a start. :-Jack
