A1 Accident

There was a shot load last week at the top of the northbound entry slip road which closed the road & caused chaos in the surrounding areas, & after recent threads I did wonder if Dozy was in the vicinity at the time.

1 shot load in about 25 yrs of having a lisense , bloody hell talk of making a mountain out of 1 molehill
Anyway they plan me well away from there as they no
I’ll go home at every opportunity , zb staying out for the night , though they did slip up with a Ashbourne - Norwich recently  , zb me my phone was ringing all the way back to Grantham  , got me nxt day and told him I’d rather my bed , food than a ■■■■■■ layby nr Norwich , still there for when place opened at 7 , so what’s the problem

I used to avoid that junction by coming off at South Muskham and taking the “old road” into Newark, left at the T and out again. The advantage being that I arrived at the nasty roundabout on a different approach and it was much easier to enter as well having the benefits of a more scenic route. And I wasn’t bothered if it took a bit longer

He liked his phone, didn’t he?

9 minute video call 18 minutes before crash, then on the phone at point of impact (had 23 seconds to respond to stationary traffic), and the day before made a 9hour+ journey in which he spent 97% of that journey on the phone :open_mouth: . On top of that, the court heard that in the days prior, he’d failed to take adequate rest periods, and was fatigued.

I use that route quite often running between Blyth and Whatton

Normally I’d say that was a little bit prejudiced, but when I glance across at overtaking left-■■■■■■ EEs I always feel a bit shocked how many are fiddling with a phone, just holding it in plain sight.
