I personally have always been fascinated with the letter X It is associated with mystery,secrecy,unknown quanties,qualities,regions,persons,etc,etc.
The X,apart from being associated with secrets,is paradoxically used as a blatant model designation -usually used in conjunction with another
letter - or to signify some feature of a particular model. Thus marketing people have used the catchy and flashy XL,XK,XP,ZX,etc combinations
as model designations and/or to signify a feature for various consumer products,including motorcars,motorcycles,aeroplanes,radio sets,
and so on - including household cleaning fluids! - for decades And I have always thought the charismatic letter X is a very appropriate letter to
use as part of the spelling for what is a fantastic,enjoyable,spiritual,loving and fun part of the lives of human beings:■■■

Big X = Richard Attenborough as Sqn. Ldr. Roger Bartlett, Big X.He was the leader and organizer of the escape team whose great endeavours
enabled 76 men to escape from the German-run Stalag Luft III Prisoner Of War Camp,in the great and exciting The Great Escape film ,1963.
The Great Escape was actually based on a real life escape of 76 Allied prisoners of war to escape from a German prison of war camp.

Meeting X = Big X’s secret Escape Committee’s secret meetings.

Station X = Bletchley Park,the headquarters of the British code breakers that broke The Ultra Secret:The German Enigma Codes in World War Two.

X-Planes =Luftwaffe X-Planes: German Experimental and Prototype Aeroplanes of World War II.

The files constitute an unassigned project outside the Federal Bureau Of Investigation - FBI - mainstream that is more or less concerned with unexplained phenomena,so-called fringe pseudo-scientific theories, and so-called non-credible evidence of paranormal activity.This secret X-Files Unit also researches in to Extraterrestrial Life. The X-Files television series is based on this FBI X-Files Unit.
By the way,the Supernatural-Paranormal is real Seriously …and I wouldn’t be surprised if Extraterrestial Life is too

X = So X is associated with spies,spying,mystery,hush-hush goings on,secrets,undercover work,cover-ups,etc.

And,as I’ve already pointed out,X is associated with other things,including transport.

Gardner produced the LW - Lightweight - Diesel-Oil Engine from 1931 to 1974.

In 1958 Gardner introduced a new 10.45-Litre in-line six-cylinder diesel-oil engine,and used the LX designation to identify the engine model
as logical follow-on from the letter W.But the X in the LX model designation could mean eXtra power! -because the underpowered
Gardner diesel engines certainly needed an extra power boost!

There’s arguably some sub headings within that category.

Road car based racing/competition cars and racing/ competition based road cars.

Broadspeed XJ 12 coupe,numerous versions of racing spec XK engined sports cars and saloons in addition to the Group 44 E type and XJS and TWR XJS.Also XJ 220 and XKR RSR fitting the former category.

and XJR 15,XKSS at least fitting into the latter one.

As for the choice between XJR 15 v XJ 220 the former has to this day always rightly been the more coveted of the two.As opposed to the latter in which Jaguar/TWR decided that putting the ‘proper’ V12 engine in it and what the customers ‘thought’ they were getting,could be circumvented in favour of the anything but ‘Jaguar’ 6 R4 based V6.Resulting in the well known mass cancellation of orders and resulting loss of deposit legal argument which personally I think the customers should have won.
