A Rant, just now at Bury st Edmunds truckstop

Sorry but I need to get this off my chest! Just pulled in to the above mentioned truckstop, for the night, dinner and a shower. It’s full, double parked in some places! Aaarrrrgggghhhh I think!
As I drive round I notice a solo unit parked in a space big enough for unit & trailer, next to unit was a dropped trailer! (There was several smaller spaces solo unit could’ve parked)
The driver was in solo unit so I stopped and asked him politely if that was his trailer and if so would he mind moving so I could use the space that his unit was in! (Tell me now if that’s an unreasonable request!)
His reply (in broken English) was that he had a trailer being brought out to him within the next hour and I was more than welcome to park in the space that the dropped trailer would leave!
I then asked him if he would move now for me, to which the reply was “no no no no I cannot move, I’m out of time!”
With this I scratched my head and gave it up as a bad job and found somewhere else to park.
I don’t really know what my point is here apart from venting my anger on my keyboard typing this out, I just thought you all might like to know that this is one of the reasons there is no unity in the job anymore!

Discuss.

Should have reported it to the truck stop management, then they would probably charge him for a trailer swap lol

It’s a council run free park, people in cafe don’t have anything to do with what happens outside!

they might already be charging for trl swap and in doing so charge for that bay.
I would have a word though and say your gonna comment about it and wont stop again.

That isn’t anything new, Elddis, Monty and others did it in Rugby, almost every bay had a unit in it next to a dropped trailer.
