A heads-up: Changes to operator CPC exams

Dave the Renegade:
Hi DD,
I passed the National in 1989 RSA,then took the International in 1999 OCR.I currently act for one operator on the International.Does that mean its no longer valid in the near future.I’m not to worried as I’m 65 next year.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave,

Sorry I missed your post.

I’m in something of a similar situation, but both my Nat and Int CPC certificates are RSAs, but I do know that, in my case, I’ve no problem because they are from the same time (1997.)

I’m really not sure of how it stands for a person such as youself who has an RSA and an OCR, because IIRC there was a cut-off point when an RSA CPC Nat wasn’t able to be linked with an OCR certificate, or some such ruling.

I’m afraid that info is lost in the mists of time.

My honest advice is that you contact OCR, (or the TC’s office) and ask the question, because I’m really not sure enough about this to confidently give you a definitive answer.

Thanks Dave, its not that I’m that bothered.I can’t see me using the international cpc again, also the national will cease when the operators on it get their own.I’m getting to the stage where I don’t want the hassle.
Cheers Dave.

Forgive me for seeming a bit thick on this, but need some help with this one. I passed my National CPC taking the exam at Beverly Tech college in 1991, the certificate has since gone missing, I cant even remember who issued it but think it was the same people who issue the certs for apprentices but maybe wrong.
Is it still valid and who would I contact to get a replacement?
Thanks

You can download a form from OCR and return it with your name, address, college and approximate date. I had to also send a certified photo saying this is a true likeness etc. Oh and a cheque for about 30quid per certificate :open_mouth:

Thanks WN, am on to the Eat Riding college & OCR’s web sites to see what I can find out.

edit… original certificate was issued by City& Guilds, just remembered that bit.

They were City and Guilds but marked by RSA

I lost both mine and took them earlier than you at Malet Lambert, but they will cost you £35 each

ocr.org.uk/download/admin/oc … p_form.pdf

Make sure you read the form and only complete the CPC part and your personal details

Once again Thanks, will do that and try to obtain a copy but to be honest I am not sure what I want it for, only ever used it for about 4/5 months when my son needed a TM and I had bought an old truck of my own. He then went and got his International and I got ripped off when I got shot of my own heap of crap  .
Should have bought the little Scanny which was a couple or three years older but 5k more expensive.
