A great day out at PDA training day

Wheel Nut:
Great story Jen.
Are you aware how much more difficult it is to reverse a short trailer? You are using a 30’ skelly which are much less forgiving then a normal 45’ trailer, hence the zig zagging and wiggles.

The next time you try it with a full length outfit, you are guaranteed to nail it in one. :stuck_out_tongue:

As for coupling, if you can use the air suspension, it is much easier to couple without the sudden bang if the trailer height and turntable is at the right height.

Well I had a brill day and after dinner Brian moved the length to C was at A in morn so maybe thats why I found it easier  but i prefer to think I got better eh  seriously though i now have a lot more confidence for this reversing and its all thanks to the PDA so hopefully will now nail that reverse on my test under no illusions though i will need a lot more training on reverse but it will come and the coupling I will bear in mind your little tip was another worry that wouldnt remember all the coupling exercise but after doing it Sat its very easy to remember just need a bit of working out for my arms to get that air susie in , but body weight helped

So glad you two enjoyed it and I know Jennie did too
On a unhappier note, there was 11 people who booked a place on the Training Day and didn’t turn up, or indeed let me know they wouldn’t be coming.

Name and shame. :smiling_imp:

Certainly not Rob.

They have been all emailed, some have made a donation and we have learned a lesson for next year.

Job Done, I think.

Hi Pat,

It’s great news that the PDA got more donations.

Hi Pat,

I am much saddened to hear this news. :frowning:

It happens only very seldomly, but this has put me into rant mode. :imp: :smiling_imp:

Do these 11 <insert word of choice> realise to what extent their selfishness has impacted on others?
I doubt it, otherwise they’d have had the common decency to make a 2mins phone-call just to let you know that they couldn’t make it. THOUGHTLESS and SELFISH!!

Of course, everybody realises that things change, and sometimes changes happen from minute to minute in people’s busy lives. However, there DID come a point when each of those 11 people realised they weren’t going to be able to make it.
:bulb: There may well be a perfectly good reason for any person’s non-attendance, but surely there can be NO EXCUSE for not making a simple phone-call. RIDICULOUS!!
Genuine people were turned away, and all because of the lack of a simple phone-call. :unamused: :imp:

Here’s the effect of thoughtless selfishness:

bloodoodle:
There was a waiting list of people wanting to come who we couldn’t fit in and therefore didn’t get the opportunity to come.

:open_mouth: You respected their booking, yet they failed to respect you. SHAMEFUL!! :smiling_imp:

The PDA and Brett’s- whose generosity cannot be understated, together with all the people who voluntarily gave up their free time for the benefit of others, and in particular yourself were all inconvenienced and had your time thoroughly wasted, plus a number of innocent people who will probably have to wait a fair while for such an opportunity to come around again.

The ones who are most likely to mess you around will be the ones who scream the loudest when you ask for the up-front donation.
At least now you’ll probably spot the time-wasters next time. :grimacing:

If anybody recognises themselves in my post, then be very ashamed (please,) but to put matters right, you could always do the right thing and MAKE A DONATION TO THE PDA.

Or, you could gutlessly slither away and simply HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME whilst relying on a pathetic excuse and continuing to hide. BENEATH CONTEMPT!! :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

There we go, points made, rant over and not a single ZB’ed word in sight.

Bloody well said!

You can UN Sticky it now please Dave

Same time next year?
