OCR in Nottingham used to pay you minimum 8 hrs if you went to the co-op, although you could be canceled 1hr before with no compensation, less than an hour and you got paid. When I was a clerk at co-op I had a driver that had been canceled the day before, the driver walked off happy as larry as he hadn’t been told about it, got 8 hrs pay and then went to Premier Foods bakery round the corner and did a 6 hr shift for a 10 hr minimum. Not bad 16hrs pay for 6 hrs driving a bread van.

Sounds like a verbal contract between you & the agency over the phone.
Small claims court shouldn’t cost too much if anything.
Claim for the 2 days work at the appropriate rate & the night out (as you had brought food & drink to cover this, wink wink !)
I wouldn’t work for this agency again if they don’t pay you.
In future I would get the agency to email you with details of any ‘Funny Jobs’ that way you’ve got electronic proof of what was agreed.
