[JEESUS I THOUGHT £!.43 WAS BAD just heard onthe radio the price of diesel in the outlying islands is now £1.73, i know they had to pay more because of the location but that is scary
Its between £1.44.9p and £1.50p a litre here on the Welsh Border.
Its a joke, there driving everything up and choking us all. If the government didn’t add so much tax to everything then we could probably get a litre for 70p. It makes me laugh because in America there still only paying 56p a litre and still moan whenever they get a little raise in price.
The last time that I had a spare bob was 10 years ago. I took the family to Tenarife for those that dont know an off shore island administered by Spain. There diesel and petrol prices were one third of what we were paying. Why do the islanders and people in remote areas here have to be penalised?

Tenerife this year - 92 cents a litre - I make that about 80 pence. Of course, they have no VAT (IVA in Spain), but if they did it would still equate to about 97 pence a litre.
If a rise does come through tax, or indeed any other way, I feel we are at the tipping point.
The bar stewards know this though, they have been told and presented with facts, so if another rise does go ahead, it is happening for a reason
With the cost of other kinds of travel and the taxation on the air travel that has increased recently, it is as though those in charge, are infact trying to stop the ordinary person moving around
I actually looked into getting a Camel, but they are classified as a dangerous animal
So a decent Mule could be the future…

Yeah but at least we’re now paying for aids treatment for ‘overseas’ visitors,so not only the £18k a year, but also encouraging the poxy scum to come here, and ‘economic aid’ to India Pakistan,Brasil, and all those other 3rd world country’s that slag us off,and the EU budget, human rights claims, compensation to illegal immigrants…no wonder there’s no money in the kitty?
Local Shell station (owned by Eurogarages) £1.47
No wonder they can afford the proposed plan to completely redevelop it having bought the house next door & some of the agricultural field behind.
Have had to order 1000 lts 28sec heating oil today at 60ppl.
On 15.01.02 I paid 15p a ltr.
1000 x .60 = 600 + 5% vat = £630 I need around 2000 - 2200 lts a year.
I think the time where I cannot afford to work and live in this country is fast approaching, the benefits of crime even seem to outweigh the penalty these days, what’s the point of slugging around 60 - 70hrs per week when you still can’t have anything more than the cripps, crims and immigrants and dole dossers to show for it ■■?
Classic example.

You can get it from trucks parked in laybys who’s owners are too ham fisted (stupid?) to pay for secure parking.
Just a slap on the wrist for a first (or more?) offence according to another (Seaham?) thread here recently.
For sale: reliable transit van (no tax) with side door, fitted IBC & high capacity 12v fuel pump. (satire)
Blimey, I’m beginning to sound like LP.
Geez, £101k for 4 weeks playing pool, sleeping, eating, and a free gym sounds like a huge deterent doesn’t it.
I must admit I’ve noticed more people car sharing recently. Sign of the times, just a shame I don’t have set hours and a work mate near by. I know at least 3 people that have got rid of their second cars. This government, like the previous, won’t be happy until they’ve shifted half the cars off the road
I’ve noticed the roads have been quieter than usual recently, the M40 was almost dead the other day, couldn’t believe it. I did some work in London on Monday and Tuesday evening and even there it was quiet. Are people just not bothering to drive anymore? I now only really use my car to go to work, anything else, we walk.

Benefit dependency is the accepted social norm where I come from, why work when you don’t have to.
