I have wondered why the few who don’t give a crap about 9/11 have even bothered to comment.
It was the biggest terroist threat to the Western world, the holocaust was not a terrorist threat, although it was horrific, the many deaths caused by the IRA and various violent factions were insignificant compared to the Twin Towers.
The nearest terrorist threat to it was the Sarin gas attack in Japan that only injured 5500 commuters
I was on the A21 out of London when i heard it and like some on ere thought it was a accident with the 1st plane but when then 2nd on went in i knew something was going on. Telly was on when i got to Rainham and watch it in disbelief
Was tipping at stoke the next day and one of the folklift drivers was asking everyone “want would they do if at top of the towers, jump or wait for the fire” He didnt get a many answers but that will stick with me for a long time
down the hospital in burton with the wife having the first scan done for our baby. it just seemed so unreal and still does today. chilling

This is the side of the fence I sit on.
America had unfortunatly antagonized the wrong people with some very questionable foreign policy. Now I don’t beleive the terrorists that comitted this act of terrorism expected the towers to come down- neither did the rest of the world.They did, it killed a lot of people , a lot of innocent people - paying the ultimate price in the name of their governments dodgy foreign policy.
They say it’s a day that changed the world - and it did. It gave the American administration the perfect excuse to start marching out the military machine.
Iraq was was accused of having links with this attack - unfounded accusation so weapons of mass destruction were dreamt up.
In time it was proved this was a load of crap and became even more obvious the whole thing was for oil.
This then brings us onto Afghanistan the place were the terrorists are hiding. Ok so thats a good story and a beleivable one of that- more believable when you cross link the taliban to Al-Qaeda.
Over time though this story has unravelled itself.
Opium which is supposedly used to fund the taliban is rather than being burnt out to stop this is now having bumper crops.Same with the fields that are found of weed.
Easy way to cut funding there ^^^^ burn it all when found.
There is also reports of massive mineral deposits in areas of Afghanistan- more so Lithium which is used to power just about every portable device going.
There is also if you look on google a pipeline from the Caspian sea to India. Afghanistan the shortest route through, go look at the areas this pipeline crosses.
You can go deeper and find more background to Afghanistan and the build up and links with Osama in the past, but you would be here all day.
It’s a lot to think about, myself I,m ex forces and been involved in terrorist acts of differing levels and none of it is nice.When the actions against Iraq and Afghanistan were first carried out I was one of those that personally backed it. Not anymore , I don’t view these 2 wars with my eyes shut, neither should anyone else.
The biggest threat out there atm in my opinion has stars and stripes.They will do anything for resources.
R.I.P. the 2,976 American people that lost their lives on 9/11 and R.I.P. the 48,644 Afghan, 60,000 pakistani and 1,690,903 Iraqi people that paid the ultimate price for a crime they did not commit.
Where was I ? Watching on TV at my mates house , I was off work and worked at EMA trunking from the DHL hub.That job changed a lot after this.
Just arrived for a tour of Glamis Castle and we were all told to switch mobiles off, just as I was about to I received a call from Shuttlespanker telling me what was happening, after that the tour guide wouldn’t let me switch off!!!
Well looks like I created a monster with that post. Such varied and wide ranging set of opinions and answers. some controversial as well, but I guess that is free speech for you. I am new on this forum but am experienced on other ones, so know how they work.

I was off work that day, I picked my Mum up from the train station and While I was waiting, I had LBC 97.3 on and they said about first plane.
Took my Mum home and put on Sky news and BBC news 24, unbelievable, stayed at my Parents house and watched it throughout the day.
