Slightly off topic - been watching Russian truck recovery vids on the 'ol Tube and one or two operators have 8x8 rigs - Kamaz I think. Probably ex military.
But even they have problems sometimes.
Not that uncommon, many recovery companies up north have 6x6 and 8x8 ex-military vehicles.
And some have custom ones built from scratch, like this twin-engined 10x8 , 2mpg on highway use
I see many 4x4 tractor units this side of the water, but recently I was overtook by a fairly new Volvo FH 4x4 with Globetrotter cab.
That 10 x 8 MAN recovery wagon must have cost a pretty penny, if i understood correctly can both engines be used simultaneously on the road, does that mean the front engine drives some axles and the rear others?
Don’t suppose they fitted a bloody Arsetronic box to that beast
