There is indeed for a tacho break but not if it’s just a WTD break.

Thankyou.

One minute, as mentioned earlier in the thread.

Thankyou.

If it is still one minute , why then are you told on the dcpc course its a minimum of 45 mins and vosa recommend 1 hour, that’s where the confusion lies.

That’s a new one on me :unamused: maybe the DCPC trainer was just making it up as he went along

What used to happen was that I driver would put his card in, drive around the yard and then put the tacho on break while the truck was loaded, taking 30 minutes, and then go out and do 9 hours at the wheel with only a 15 minute break. That, as I understand it, is why they modified the rules.

which bit is a new one on you dave?
the drive for 1 minute bit?
the 45 minute break?
or the recommended 1 hour by vosa?

it’s all prety straightforward, and nothing new to me.
if you drive for 1 minute, take a 15 minute break, then your next break should be 30 minutes.
however, if you decide not to split your break, then you will need a minimum of a 45 minute break, however, it is recommended that a 1 hour break would be better for you.

If you are likely to need 10 hours driving you need to have an hour before the first break. You can then use the remainin 9 hours as usual. If you only drive ½ an hour, you would need to take a third 45 to use that extra ½ hour at the end of the day.

What scantruck means: dcpc recommend driving for 45 mins before taking a 15 or 45, and vosa
recommend one hour of driving.

One minute of driving is all thats required for the tach to record start of break. Simples

WTF has it to do with VOSA?

Did you have to pay for this CPC course?

Nothing worse than putting a 45 or thirty in at about 3 or 4 pm when you have no bait or tea left and your only 10 or so miles to home, still its a good idea to a prick behind a desk with a toilet and canteen a few yards down the building, when they start a 8am ,hour and half for lunch, away home at 4pm and into thier own bed.

If my total driving for a day doesn’t exceed 4.5 hours (start at 07:00 fin at 18:00 ish) Am I right in thinking that I only need a total 30 minute break and that can be taken in 2 15’s
