Got fixed penalty £60 and 3 points for being on phone ( was in a stationary car not truck but engine running ) anyway not complaining about that . Just wondering what % will I expect to pay on top because of this on CAR insurance . ie How much extra .
I have got 3 points for mobile phone, it’s a long story which I won’t bore you with, CU80 offence code, it put my insurance up by 200 quid when I was getting my quotes recently. Try Adelaide insurance, they have given me a great deal, they will beat any quote, they specialise in Hgv drivers as well
Cheers Selby

Depends what you mean by stationary, stationary in traffic, or parked up with engine running?
If the latter, I’d be arguing that through all the land, if the former, well, tough
Anywhy. If you are in a Layby, on a Red Traffic-light or in a standing Traffic. How will you phone Office about the Delay, coming late to work,or school to pick Child up.

Handsfree?
up to 3 points makes no differance to car insurance premiums.
I done a quite without my points and with points, was £200 dearer with 3 points, half considered not admitting I had points but thought better of it
dont worry about 3 or 6 points for fixed pens.iv
e been on 9 before and had no trouble insuring my car or bike, and it was`nt too expensive either.
if your insurers want to bump your premium by £200 quid just for 1 fixed pen, tell em to offski and go on a comparison site,in fact allways, allways use a comparison site.
Can be dependant on the offence, speeding’s not usually too bad but other offences can make a difference.
my little bro got caught on phone got chance of the driver awareness course
ditto for bustin a red light

It does.
I got done for speeding and was waiting for the letter to arrive. My car insurance was due as well, so I did all the comparison sites, with the points and without the points (because I have the option to do a speed awareness course), result was £35 cheaper without the points.
Thats £35 for the next 3 (or 5) years plus extra on my bike insurance, so I`m paying the £84 and doing the course.
I must say though Phil that I also didnt think it would make any difference...but it does. Lets face it nobody
s going to pass up on an opportunity to make money off you these days eh?
I had a bit of a ban for speeding in 2009, the price comparison sites give the same quote with the ban or without, I suppose it depends on the drivers age post code, the broker and the underwriter.

Someone thinking of the children - I like that
I wished insurance companies would add £500 to premiums of people useing mobile phones…

my sister in law runs her own brokerage. and if you tell her you have three points, then you have given her an excuse to earn some more commision. the insurance companies arn’t bothered, it’s just the brokers being greedy.
the daft cow let the cat out of the bag at a party. did she forget that all my insurance “car, and home” is through her firm?
