So I’m still working within EU rules…
Yep
Cheers, that’s what I wanted to know, thank you everyone
make sure your car insurance covers you for business along with social domestic and pleasure and commuting
shouldn’t cost any more

As said , I’m not infringing on my working time or driving hours, and CPC instructor says as I’m not on tacho and using my car its no ones business,
I wouldn’t try telling that to a VOSA examiner
Legally the fast food job will count as other work.

it’s vital you check that the business insurance covers you for fast food delivery as most don’t due to the higher risk.

Might also want to think about good in transit as well
Posted on the wrong forum 1st, sorry
I also have insurance.
Could our man not get his boss to pay him a bit more in the first place?Or as in another topic phone Carly at ADR spend £1098 get the class 1 and be rolling in money.
Not much difference in pay and
We don’t have class 1 at our depot
I’d just do it but like iv allways done when iv done other work is not to say anything to your so called work mates, some of them love to grass.
My mate got grassed up for doing wedding chauffeur cars on a weekend but the boss couldn’t do a thing because he wasn’t going over his working time.
Thanks terrier, that exactly the prob, my boss knows I do it, but workmates say its illegal as I already drive the truck!!

With the hours you say you work with driving a truck I can’t see it been a problem to be honest, your boss would tell you otherwise,
Don’t listen to your work mates either… There are firemen out there doing 4 on 4 off shifts and driving on at least two of them four days off, was two of them at an old company off mine they never got questioned by anyone,.
Just earn the extra brass mate not worry,iv thought about delivering the take aways my self but I’d be forever nicking a chip out of the bags
I will, just wanted other opinions
If it’s cash in hand, fair enough.
If you’ll be paid through PAYE, forget it, it’s not worth the extra effort in the evenings. Your 2nd job will be on tax code 0T or similar and most will be eaten away into nothing, taking into account your current full time wage. 8 hours a week just isn’t enough for it to be worthwhile, but that’s just my opinion.
And heed the advice given in a previous reply about being aware of what’s going on around you. I got jumped twice in five months doing that job. I was a lot younger and full of naivety but there are some serious weirdos out there. At least we have 'elf n safety to keep us safe from them in the day job aye?

According to the .gov rules I must take 10 hrs rest between 2 working days, reduced to 8.5 hrs 3 days a week, I can’t work more than 16 hrs a day, and every 2 weeks have 24 hrs uninterrupted rest
That sounds like the domestic rules we used when I was a bus driver
Thanks for all the comments, much appreciated, now I know where I stand
