2 trailer loads of Whisky stolen out of Currie's

Curries havent had a guard on the gate for years, you can drive upto the gate and press the buzzer and 9 times out of 10 they never ask who you are, thieves know where this stuff is loaded so all they do is sit nearby and watch the trailers coming out, follow them down the road and watch them go into yard, look for a trailer that has a tir cord on it, as for trackers, they are visible when you are travelling directly behind, but some of the trackers didnt work anyway. yes the trailers were took out through the back gate through penman engineering, same way every trailer goes when they are nicked from there.

They were both box vans, so no tir cord, but they had seals so that could have identified them

If it was spotted coming out of the drinks bit or they were tipped off all they’d need to do was log the trailer number.

How can he be a traffic cop, his mother and father were married. I take it you have an axe to grind with this particular person did you get a ticket from him or what.Bobert

Kerbdog:
Amazing how they end up hundreds of miles away on the motorway network and yet there are thousands of camera’s and police on the network that missed the trailers. Surely the police must know that any currie’s trailer on the motorway needs to be looked at closely.

I bet there are some arrests within a month. 3 months at the most.

i got an email from wincantons with a few stories of trucks and/or trailers being stolen. the times given for the trailers being stolen were between 18.30 wednesday and 04.30 thursday. by the thursday morning the trailers would probably have been dumped already.
another incident was on the industrial estate at normanton near scania. a hungarian truck was stolen and both drivers were kidnapped and released once the truck was dumped. the trailer contained mobile phones.
seems the

That nick is only open part-time, so probably would have been closed at the time of the theft.

It seems there are no “Angus Nairn- Super-plod” types in the Dumfries and Galloway Police Force.

There is…one of the traffic cops is an ex-Securicor/DHL driver and he gives all truckers a hard time. It’s just that he hasn’t had the spotlight of a national TV programme to boost his image. :exclamation:

Does he work on the 75 all the time■■?

Well I’ve heard of plain units going into container bases with false papers and taking containers must be either a lucky dip or they have inside info on whats in em, they got some balls I’ll give em that, but if you are honest with the info you have of the job and the knowledge of how places work how easy would it be for you to nick a loaded trailer… :astonished: some of the firms now have such a great turnover of staff it getting easier for the crims to do it, I mean even a load of timber if you know the right people there will be someone out there that would buy it off ya i’m sure in these economic times, the amount of times i’ve been parked an some irish man more than likely a ■■■■■ has offered me tools out the back of a van, which he’s obviously just nicked from a building site

The cops are appealing for witnesses again. It’s the first anniversary of the theft.

Tell them to pith off home,

you, your my best mate you are!!!

Christian Salvesen in Rowley had a few million pounds worth of Dell computers go missing on the same night their alarm and CCTV system wasn’t working.

What an unlikely coincidence :astonished:

After that we had to load the trucks ourselves in the morning as they reckon the night loaders pulled it off.

Strangely enough, the security gate has been knackered for the last week and with just an old boy at the gate, wouldn’t surprise me if something was to happen :exclamation:

Now that would be embarrassing!!!

Must have cost Curries a few £££ as usually high value load + dropped trailer = no GIT insurance.
