Canadian equivalent of I-94 visa waiver

Hi All,

Are there any US based expats on here? Specifically truck drivers who cross into Canada regularly?

When I worked in Canada crossing into the US, we used to renew our I-94 visa waiver every 90 days and life was good.

I’m going for a job in the US which will have me crossing regularly into Canada, and I’m wondering if there is a similar deal in the other direction… Employer has never dealt with expats before, and I’d prefer to sound like I know what I’m talking about, ha ha.

Thanks in advance

I’m a retired expat driver living in the US so my info may be out of date but I was never asked about a I-94 visa at the Canadian border, not as a US citizen or before when I had a green card. Last time I went to Quebec was about 2002 so it may be different now.

What part of the US will you be moving to ?

Conditions of entry depends on the country that issued the passport you use to enter Canada.

The plan is to move to Montana, hopefully in the Missoula area. The job would mostly involve crossing into Alberta. I worked in Alberta for several years and crossed into the US many times, essentially this is the same in reverse.

I will be travelling on an Australian passport, so there is no problems crossing into Canada re: visa etc. I’m more interested in knowing if the process can be streamlined; as in not needing to get a new visa waiver every single time I cross… Potentially I could be crossing twice a week, so really need to try and make the process quick & painless (if possible )
