Start times

Harry Monk:

I start around March, when the days are long enough to start & finish in daylight, & finish around October, when the fog starts to get thicker.

I do almost the exact opposite, start work in September, work through the Winter, finish up the weekend the clocks go forward in March then spend the Summer cruising around on my narrowboat. It works for me.

I share your life over accumulation work schedule Harry & love your choice of leisure activity.
I should add I only do around 10-30 shifts in that time-frame & only when I can take my partner along for the journey (hence it’s better to be driving in daylight).
The driving I do is because I have to get my truck fix occasionally & choice jobs are like days out, rather than work, when accompanied.
