Out of Scope Mode

Lusk:

tachograph:
I’ve no idea why there would be no driving time shown on the driver card, if you use a digital tachograph in the usual way and put it on “out of scope” all it does is mark the records as out of scope.

If you’re driving on UK domestic rules you can either use the tachograph on out of scope or use log sheets.

While on UK domestic regulations you come under the 1998 working time regulations.

The Working Time Regulations 1998 - Section 12 (Breaks)

Great Britain domestic rules on drivers’ hours

Thanks for this.

So this company is moving from log books to tacho cards which I think is far better. When under GB rules, should they use in scope or out of scope on the VU?

Out of scope, as you’re are out of scope of the EU regulations when under GB domestic,

You have to set it out of scope every time you insert your card.

The tacho is still going to act the same as normal in the sense of it’ll say you need a break at 4.5 hours of driving, as that isn’t a requirement of GB domestic just ignore it
