TN member j.gooch (R.I.P.)

Postby dieseldave » Wed Sep 09, 2015 2:45 pm

Marina (Jon's wife) has allowed me to post, so it is with great sadness and regret that I have to inform you all of the passing of my very good friend and TN forum member j.gooch

Jon died yesterday at 17:08.

My thoughts are with Marina and the family, but especially with Emma and Melanie, Marina and Jon's daughters.

Jon was a very experienced 'old school' driver who'd done European trips through the 80s, 90s and 00s and also owned and operated his own truck for a few years.

My memories of Jon are all good... a straight-talking guy who always said it (and posted) as he saw it, so you always knew where you stood.

The world is a poorer place without Jon, and that's for sure.

R.I.P. Jon.

Hello all

This is Marina, Jon's wife. I would like to thank you all for your kind words/wishes, they are truly appreciated.

Jon was a wonderful husband and father, he was a truck driver for over 35 years. He worked for Carters/Goodways/Mammoet/Sabra/DHL/MJS before starting his own business in 2007. He had a contract with a Dutch transport consultancy hauling from Europe and beyond back to UK.

He was diagnosed with terminal cancer in June of this year. He remained strong and brave throughout his illness never complaining. My family and I truly miss him deeply.

Make sure you guys spend lots of time with your loved ones, as you never know what's around the corner.
