There’s no point separating the ‘known’ and ‘unknown’ infringements.
When you know you’ve committed an infringement you’re supposed to do two tacho printouts, one for the driver, one for the office, both with explanations of the reason for the infringement written on them. The office copy of the printout should then be kept with the signed notification of the infringement.
A lot of companies will get drivers to write explanations of their infringements and what they will do to avoid getting them again on the infringement notification for ‘unknown’ infringements, basically to do the same job as the printout would have done had the driver known of the infringement
