15 months to get a licence that normally takes less than 2 weeks training. Do the maths and figure out how much you could have earned in 15 months.In my mind, this is very expensive training. Far from free.

Also examiners and training centres can not even keep up with the demand of actual people PAYING for their own courses. What’s the waiting time to get training now like 3 months?
I feel this money should be spent more on examiners in particular paying them a decent wage. I looked into it a few weeks ago and they are only on like 24k a year. Maybe extra grants for training centres as well for expansion. Or better yet more testing centres.
The backlog is not going to be fixed by giving away free training. Once they have got the supply/demand situation under control they can start talking about free training.
Personally though, I do not think it should be free.
