Amazon Driver Day

Oooh a free gift for drivers…

Celebrating Driver Day!
This week we are celebrating the work you and your drivers do, shining a light on three areas that matter; Sustainability, Safety and Experience.
Driving a positive Experience:
We are working to improve the daily experience for drivers by improving facilities and processes. People matter, we want to recognise drivers and carriers for the vital work they provide to the network.
What can you expect as part of Driver Day?

  • Gifts available at the gatehouse of EU Amazon sites
  • A survey where you can share your feedback so we can make steps to improve your experience (survey available in driver lounges and at the gatehouse) * Messaging delivered in Relay for Driver (R4D) app. Want to learn about Relay? Visit here. (link: relay.amazon.co.uk/)
Gate-pass on R4D (available in QR codes) can enhance you check-in experience by expediting the check-in time, if you’re not using it already, you can download the app from the QR code, setup an account for yourself and start using the Gate-pass/QR code for faster check-ins.
    Driving Safety:
The health and safety of everyone in yard is Amazon’s number one priority, and we have taken many proactive measures to ensure this happens. The following activities will support your safety at site:
  • Complete your vehicle safety checks
  • Ensure your handbrake is engaged when stationary
  • Check surroundings and be aware of pedestrians
  • Always use wheel chocks to ensure the vehicle is secured
  • Familiarise yourself with site safety rules
    Driving Sustainability:
Transportation is a major component of Amazon’s business operations and a key part of our plan to meet net zero carbon by 2040. We are committed to optimizing and transforming our transportation network through innovations in electrification, efficiency enhancements, and alternative delivery methods. You can find out more about sustainability here. Did you know there are things you can do to lower your carbon emissions?
  • Careful driving such as avoiding harsh breaking and acceleration can help reduce your personal carbon emissions
  • Enabling Sustainability for all, this Amazon resource provides tips on being more sustainable in day to day life: sustainability.aboutamazon.com/about/customers
  • Idling can reduce your truck’s fuel economy and create cost and pollution. By avoiding an idling engine, you can lower your personal carbon emissions.

Maybe they could put letter boxes up for suggestions written on paper?
Maybe put boxes near the overnight truck parking areas? Or next to the driver shower room, or canteen?
