Can anyone on this forum remember a Birkenhead company who made metal cans and containers? I’m going back about forty years but the address Laird Street springs to memory. I used to drive for an Essex based company and used to load in DKS (or it may have been just DK) Containers for DEB, the Swarfega makers, among others. I seem to recall DKS were on the left hand side of Laird Street right on a busy road junction.
There was also a paint company in Speke called Valspar, I don’t suppose they’re around now. We used to deliver metal cans for Nacanco. There was a great little guy worked the fork truck called Sid; I know full well he won’t be around now!
