A Norfolk Dual Carriageway

xjrv8:
I was going to a boat yard in Norfolk and was travelling along this narrow country lane, doing approx 25mph due to my size and didn’t want to meet any oncoming traffic at speed. I came across this sign, thought it strange to have it in the middle of no where. So I took a picture of it.

I continued on for 1/4 mile and guess what… this appeared…

I have never come across a dual carriageway like this before.

Has anyone else come across any strange roads like this?

Has anyone saved this photo?

It is the single lane carriageway that was used as a trick question

If yr asking if it was a spoof, no it wasn’t. It does exist.

yep been on that road many times, it joins onto the A149, yarmouth to North Walsham road I think.

PMSL

Nice 50 limit then…

there used to be late night car races on that road
there was a lot of crashes as well.

Looks like they put it there to protect the trees.

It doesn’t mean how many lanes a road has whether it is a dual carriageway

I live about 8 miles away from this stretch of dual. Used it more times than i can remember. I’m not sure if you’d manage 50 mph along there. Too many bends

Fair point - I meant ‘if safe to do so’

Is it 50 without center reserve? :unamused:

Looks just like the A1 to me  “ooh ar” “wher’s ma tracta”

At what point does it actually become a D.C.? Is it the start of the white lines or the strip dividing the carriageways? (I know I’m being pedantic  )

I would have thought as the white lines split, but it seems hypothetical, as Mr Vain said, you may not reach 50mph because of the bendy bits
