Just driving a Merc 32 tonne 8 wheeler. Power Steering Function Light is on. Boss seems to think it will be auxiliary batteries have dropped voltage….thoughts please?

Course he does, means he gets to spend nowt and convince you there’s not a problem. If the truck is running and there’s no alternator warning light on the dashboard then the voltage is fine as the alternator will be putting out about 28V. Whether or not that’s making it to the power steering is another issue but if it isn’t then there’s a problem. Either way warning lights like that don’t tend to come on for no reason. Defect it, make it office’s problem.

Have you checked the fluid level ? 
If your boss says its fine just crack on and ignore it until it breaks properly.
