Obviously a head on crash but would a car cause the cab mounts at the rear to detach?

Or would it have been the firefighters?

Goes to two lanes travelling towards A1 at last stretch, truck looks like it’s heading towards South Elmsall and car towards A1,has car crossed the solid white line?
Looks horrific on photos, can only hope no lives lost.

I know of an incident where a wagon was hit from the rear by a car (suv) at high speed that managed to snap the tail lift clean off.

Yes, the impact will be below the front cab hinges. There are many pictures of crashes with the cab completely detached so the rear mountings do break free. The debris trail and the displacement of the lorry front axle in this incident give some idea of the forces involved.

[. The debris trail .

Suggests that the lorry carried on without slowing down too rapidly after colliding with a car (as to be expected).

A bit like analysing pictures of cars that have lost their roof in a collision? Possibly?
